Goodness, gracious. Lasted til 8:30PM. Weighed in this morning and spent the day with my boyfriend juicing up all sorts of tasty fruit and veggie juices. We started out strong and motivated but had sporadic crashes throughout the day. I took 2 naps, felt depressed, and even found myself hallucinating about food! Then, to make it even worse, I had a volleyball game tonight and a 4 mile round trip bike ride to get there. A headache came on and I became depressed. The final straw was when my boyfriend reminded me that it was "Taco Tuesday" at our favorite local joint....
I guess I underestimated how much I love food and lost track of what it really means to be healthy. Does being "healthy" consist of prohibiting yourself from eating solid foods for ten days? Or, can one still be "healthy" by making subtle lifestyle changes?
We may have failed at a 10 day food deprivation challenge, but we haven't completely failed!!! We're still healthy, young, and motivated. So, we've committed to incorporate juicing into our regular day to day diets and buying more fruits and vegetables to have on hand and readily eatable. Seems A LOT more realistic, right?
